15.School closures, weather delays and missed classes

There are times throughout the year when your school may be closed due to professional development, weather or some other reason that may cause your students to miss CDLI classes.  Should this occur, the following procedures are in place to ensure your students do not miss valuable instructional time.  This also helps keep the CDLI teachers updated as to the status of your students on any given day.

A.   NLSchools School Status Reporting Tool

NLSchools schools are to use the regular Member Services process to report on school closures, weather delays, etc., as you normally would. The CDLI website displays near real-time access to this information.

B.    CDLI School Status Tool

For non-NLSchools schools with students enrolled in CDLI courses, you will still have access to the School Status tool found within the CDLI portal. This tool indicates the status of your school on any given day. It is found on the main portal page after you log in. You would indicate whether or not the school is open, closed for weather, etc. Instructions on using this tool are on our website when you log in.

C.   Email

You are free to email a specific CDLI Teacher when you know students will miss class(es).

D.   Recorded classes

CDLI Teachers often record and post classes for students to view. If you have a student who misses a class, they can view the recording(s) to minimize any loss of instruction.

E.    Online Content/Tutorials

CDLI offers web-based content and tutorials to students, face-to-face teachers and parents. To access our online content, log in to your CDLI account and click on “Learning Content”.
