Finding an IP address

One way to find the IP address of a computer is to follow the steps below.

1. Select the Start/Windows button in the lower left hand corner of the desktop and type "cmd" in the searchbox box, then select it.

   Windows 7 will look like this:

   

   Windows 10 will look like this:

   

2. In the Command Prompt window, as shown below, type "ipconfig".
