Previous lessons gave you an overview/introduction to forms to digital multimedia that are suitable for inclusion in the web. Many other forms are available. Each as particular strengths and weaknesses, and each has specific purposes.
Three of the most widely used are
DHTML is HTML 4.0 and is used to provide more control over elements in a web page, particularly text. It provides some animation functions.
VRML is an HTML extension that allows real-time creation of 3D graphics and animation from text files. A browser plug-in is used to interpret the file and animate it on your screen. It allows the creation of quite sophisticated interactive 3D worlds involving people in different locations simultaneously manipulating the environment.
Macromedia Flash is a commercial application that is designed for producing sophisticated, complex, interactive multimedia for the web.
The purpose of this activity is to develop understanding of alternate forma of digital multimedia for use in the web
