In this lesson you will

• describe latitude, longitude, and altitude
• examine applications for GPS in transportation

• electromagnetic radiation and spectrum
• carrier waves and radio
• satellite orbits and motions
• the concept of constellation as a collection of things
• how to read positional information on a map or globe
• Time zones and Grenwich Mean Time
• mean (or average) sea level
• altitude as measure of the distance above mean sea level
