Outcomes
In this lesson you will
- prepare your aircraft for flight
Students will:
- Identify and examine systems used to communicate critical information through aircraft voice and automated communication channels.
- Identify and examine communication feedback methods and sensors used to identify component or systems failures in aircraft.
- Identify and examine navigation aids utilized to fly an aircraft from point to point worldwide
- Plan and execute flight simulations using one or more aircraft
Introduction
This project is a major activity in which you will simulate flying large aircraft. The major focus of the activity will be the applications of communications technologies to flying aircraft and navigating from one location to another.
You will experience the diversity of communications systems and equipment used for human-machine communications in aircraft, and the communications systems required to fly safely anywhere in the world.
Prerequisites
To be successful in this lesson, you will need to know the following:
- how to use a joystick
- how to start Microsoft Flight Simulator
- how to exit MS flightsim
