Media is any format used to create, store, and convey information.  In includes print, audio, video, animation, film, TV, radio, and computers.  If you combine two or more media into a single presentation format, you have multimedia.  This course concerns itself primarily with the design and production of digital, or computer-based media formats.  This unit is no exception.

  • Section 1 provides a very brief overview of the evolution of multimedia
  • Section 2 covers the design and production of digital audio, digital video, and combined audio/video
  • Section 3 covers cell and morphing style animation in several formats
  • The unit project pulls all these together in the development of a small web with several multimedia components.

This unit will help you develop capabilities you need to complete the major design activity for the course.
