Stop-motion Animation

Assigned Activities Step 1

Plan the animation

• Write a very brief story to animate (3-4 lines) (not essential but will make the animation look better)
• Storyboard the main sequence of the animation
• Collect suitable objects to use in the animation
• Set up a place to video the animation
  • a 'set' with background will look best
  • make sure the lighting is adequate
  • since it will be recorded on computer, it needs to be near the computer
  • put the 'actors' in place and prepare them for the first frame
• Set up the camera and connect it to the computer using Dazzle.  Turn on the camera.  You should not have a video tape in the camera for this activity.  If you do, it will shut itself off after a few minutes.  Focus the camera on the 'actors' you will be animating.
