Section 01 has the following components

the evolution of media as a means of expressing ideas through audio and visual means
the evolution of multimedia as a means of simultaneously employing two or more forms of media as a means of enhancing meaning
media convergence, or the use of a common form of encoding information from all media types, allowing seamless integration of different media
digital multimedia, or the integration of different forms of digital media into a single media presentation
web-based multimedia as a ubiquitous means of designing and distributing complex, media-rich content
