In this lesson you will

• apply elements and principles of visual design
• apply common layout principles to graphics
• create a simple layout that includes copy (text) and images

Students will:

• understand the basics of visual design
• employ the elements and principles of visual design in creating images, and to construct print and web layouts
• use typography effectively
• use illustration software to create effective page layouts

Prerequisites

To be successful in this lesson, it would be helpful to know the following:

• standard printing terms such as copy, text images
• graphic elements and principles
• typographic basics
• Corel Draw basics
