Outcomes
        In this lesson you will 
        - describe the terms type, typeface, and font; 
 
          - describe the six different categories, or classifications of type; 
 
          - describe the attributes which are used in the design of type; 
 
          - define the following terms as they apply to effective type usage: type effect, type texture, serif/sans-serif, justification, emphasis and contrast; 
 
          - create a series of text blocks to illustrate different type classifications, attributes, and which demonstrate effective type usage. 
 
        
Students will: 
        - understand the basics of visual design 
 
          - employ the elements and principles of visual design in creating images, and to construct print and web layouts 
 
          - use typography effectively 
 
          - use illustration software to create effective page layouts

        To be successful in this lesson, it would be helpful to know the following:
