Outcomes
In this lesson you will
- determine which components or aspects of the solution will be evaluated
- document all work in your design portfolio
Students will
- develop assessment criteria to measure the outcome of their design activity
- assess the outcome of the design activity
- make conclusions about the results
Introduction
This stage is an opportunity for you to reflect on what you have done and to assess your results. Many of the processes should be familiar to you.
- Part 1 Determine what to Evaluate
- To do this you need to look at what you intended to develop and decide what you want to assess. The design brief will be your starting point.
- Part 2 Establish Assessment Criteria
- Once you know what you want to assess, you will identify particular criteria that will let you determine how well you did.
- Part 3 Apply the Criteria - Assess the Solution
- Now you have the things you want to assess, and the criteria you will use to assess them. Time to rate each item in a table.
- Part 4 Interpret the Results - Evaluate the Solution
- This part requires you to look at the results of your rating and determine what they mean.
- Part 5 Using the Results - Deciding what to Do
- Finally, you will need to make a decision regarding the results. If you had time. for example, how would you modify the solution?
Prerequisites
To be successful in this part, it would be helpful to
- have completed the development stage of this project
- have good documentation of your activities and decisions related to the process
