The project is in three parts, the first two of which are a guided investigation. Part 3 involves the creation of your own design. Initially, you will concern yourself only with part 1 of the project, as parts 2 and 3 will be discussed at the end of Section 5.3.
Part 1: Exploring Spirals
This part of the Chapter Project is exploratory in nature. You will use graphing technology to complete each step. Although the task may look challenging at first, the directions are relatively straightforward. Be sure to examine the resulting graphs closely and record any patterns you notice.
Carry out Part 1 of the project as outlined on pages 298 to 300, paying particular to the Notes in the margin.
