In this lesson you will learn
By the end of this section students will be able to:
Throughout this section you will be involved in several activities to develop a rotational matrix that produces a reflection in the y-axis, in the line y = x, as well as a combination of a reflection, a rotation of 90° about the origin, and a rotation of 180° about the origin. This general rotational matrix will be used to help you investigate the graphs of various trigonometric functions.
Initially, however, you will be guided through a review of the multiplication of matrices, as this skill is an integral part of the development of the general rotational matrix.
This unit of work requires 2.5 to 3 hours to complete.
