Outcomes

In this lesson you will learn

  • to combine two functions by multiplication

By the end of this section students will be able to:

  • model problem situations with combinations and compositions of functions
  • analyze relations, functions and their graphs
  • use tables and graphs as tools to interpret combinations and compositions of functions
  • represent complex numbers in a variety of ways

Prerequisites

To be successful in this lesson, it would be helpful to know the following:

  • how to find the domain and range of combined functions
  • how to multiply two linear functions
  • how to find the x and y-intercepts of functions
  • how to find the vertex of a quadratic function
  • the relationship between the vertex of a quadratic function and its maximum or minimum value
  • symmetry as it relates to graphs of quadratic functions
