In this lesson you will
- carry out a simulation and compare theoretical probability and experimental probability
- investigate probability through simulations
By the end of this section students will be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding that determining probability requires the quantifying of outcomes
- demonstrate an understanding of the Fundamental Counting Principle and apply it to calculate probabilities of dependent and independent events
- develop and apply simulations to solve problems
Prerequisites
To be successful in this lesson, it would be helpful to know the following:
- trial
- simulation
- simulation processes such as the use of spinners, drawing marbles from a bag, the random number generator on a calculator, etc
