It is now time to make your design more accurate and incorporate some of the concepts and calculations we learned in this section into the design.
The first step is to determine the actual size of the logo or garden you wish to create. When you have done that, draw the initial circle or circles to scale on grid paper. Also on the grid paper, draw in all chords, radii, diameters, etc, that you intend to use in your design. After you have completed the next section in this unit, you will add other angles, sectors, tangents, etc.
To connect this with what we have done in the last section, you should use the distance and midpoint formulas to find the lengths and midpoints of all chords used in the design. Do the calculations and presentation of this on a separate sheet.
If you have access to a geometry or graphics software package, it would be by far the best way to complete this initial scale drawing. With software, changes and modifications are easy and the project can be more easily sent to your on-line teacher for suggestions and grading.
Submit what you have done to you on-line teacher if it is requested.
