Investigation 1: ChordsPart 2, Steps D to J - Alternate Approach Instructions for running the interactive window When you open the window, click on either chord end point and hold the mouse button down. Simply drag the chord to various positions until the desired value is obtained. Before you start, copy the table below and then open the window and manipulate the chords using Geometer's Sketch Pad to fill in the missing measures. Use the results you obtain to answer Step J in Part 2 of the Investigation on page 207 in your text.
The answers you obtain to fill in the above table can be used to answer Step J in Part 2 of the Investigation and also be use to answer Question 10 in the Check Your Understanding on page 209. Once you have started to investigate the different positions of the chord, the diagram may get messed up. If it does, to return to the original screen you started with, simply press r. This will restore the screen to the original diagram. When you are finished with the investigation, simply close the window to return to this page.
