Outcomes

In this lesson you will

  • Investigate probability through simulation.
  • Use simulations to compare theoretical and experimental probability.

By the end of this section you should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding that determining probability requires the quantifying of outcomes.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Fundamental Counting Principle and apply it to calculate probabilities of dependent and independent events.
  • Develop and apply simulations to solve problems.

Prerequisites

To be successful in this lesson, it would be helpful to know the following:

  • The basic concept of probability.
  • The difference between experimental and theoretical probability.
  • How to use simulation to model an event.
