Overview
This unit consists of five sections as follows:
Section 01 Complex Numbers
This sections introduces the concept of and terminology associated with complex numbers. It develops addition, subtraction, and multiplication of complex numbers. It also shows how to verify that a given complex number is a zero of a given function.
Section 02 Polynomial Equations
This section deals with the various methods of solving polynomial equations of degree four or less. The main techniques addressed are factoring and the Rational Roots Theorem.
Section 03 Graphs
This section looks at the "basic shape" of polynomial functions of degree four or less. It also deals with how to write a polynomial function for a given graph.
Section 04 Radical Equations
This section introduces the technique of solving radical equations and introduces the concept of extraneous roots.
Section 05 Review
As the title implies, this section provides review material for the unit.
