Introduction
This section consists of one lesson as follows:
Lesson 01 Solving Equations Involving Radicals
In this lesson you will solve equations that have the variable under a radical sign. You will be introduced to the concept of extraneous roots and see the necessity of checking all solutions by substituting them back into the original equation.
Prerequisites
To be successful in this lesson, it would be helpful to know the following:
- Definition of radical.
- How to add, subtract, multiply and simplify algebraic expressions.
- How to add, subtract, multiply and simplify radicals.
- How to solve linear and quadratic equations in one variable.
