Overview
This unit consists of five sections as follows:
Section 01 The Real Number System
This section reviews the real number system and its various subsets: viz. the whole numbers, natural numbers, integers, rational numbers, and irrational numbers. It looks at the relation between the sets and how each can be used to specify the domain and range of various problem situations.
Section 02 Working with Fractions
This section reviews the basic concepts of fractions such as LCD, simplest form, improper fractions, etc. It also reviews how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide simple and complex fractions.
Section 03 Working with Decimals and Percents
This section reviews the concepts of decimal fractions. It shows how to convert between the various forms, viz. decimal, fraction, and percent. It also deals with percentages of increase and decrease in problem situations.
Section 04 Order of Operations
This section deals with calculations with numerical and simple algebraic expressions.
Section 05 Review
This section consists of a review of the entire unit.
