Jordan Montague – Canada-Wide Science Fair Silver Medalist
Posted on Jun 26, 2025
CDLI is proud to recognize Jordan Montague, a Grade 12 student at Lake Melville School, for her outstanding achievements in science, community involvement, and the arts. Jordan is currently enrolled in Physics 2204 with CDLI and is already making a mark on both provincial and national stages.
Jordan was awarded a silver medal at the Canada-Wide Science Fair, one of the country’s most prestigious youth STEM competitions. Her accomplishments began at the Labrador, Western, and Central Newfoundland Virtual Science Fair, where she earned a gold medal, and continued as she received the Cenovus Energy Indigenous STEM Scholarship. She has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, earning a place on her school’s honour roll.
In addition to her achievements in science and academics, Jordan is a passionate leader in extracurricular activities. She is one of the founding members of her school’s drama club, the Nanuk Players, and has been an active participant throughout high school. She also serves as the sole tutor in the Homework Club, a supportive space where students of all ages can study, ask questions, and receive help.
Jordan’s community involvement extends beyond the classroom. She has been part of the dance community for much of her life, both as a ballet student and teacher, sharing her passion and skill with younger dancers. She also contributes to her local literary community as a member of the North West River Volunteer Library Committee.
In her spare time, Jordan enjoys reading, ballet, and beading traditional Inuit earrings. During the winter, she spends time snowshoeing and relaxing at her family cabin, embracing the natural beauty of Labrador.
This fall, Jordan will begin a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Mount Allison University. She plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology, with the goal of working with children to create safe, supportive spaces that foster growth and celebrate individuality.
We wish Jordan continued success as she follows her dreams and inspires others along the way!
