Hailey Messervey - Science Fair Winner and Provincial Representative

CDLI is proud to recognize Hailey Messervey, a Grade 12 student at Bayview Academy, for her outstanding academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and community service. Hailey is currently enrolled in Math 3200 and Chemistry 3202 with CDLI.
Hailey recently won the Labrador, Western, and Central Newfoundland Science Fair, earning the chance to represent the province as part of Science Team NL at the 2025 National Science Fair. This achievement highlights her passion for learning and innovation and her commitment to academic excellence.
Hailey has earned numerous awards and accolades throughout her school years, including the Drama Award, Science Award, Citizenship Award, and Scholar Athlete Award. She was also Valedictorian, and her science projects have received top honours at the regional level, including a gold medal and “Best Project” distinction. In addition, she has been named Most Valuable Player on her school’s girls’ badminton team.
Hailey is deeply involved in school life. She has been an active member of the student council, drama club, badminton team, and softball team, while also providing tutoring support to her peers. Beyond the classroom, she contributes her time and energy to her community by volunteering with the SPCA, St. George’s and Stephenville Crossing recreation programs, Bayview Academy volunteer, NAWN community work, and foster families initiatives.
Outside of her academic and volunteer commitments, Hailey enjoys reading, writing, drawing, psychology, beachcombing, and exploring new ideas through research.
Looking ahead, Hailey plans to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, followed by a doctorate with the goal of becoming a clinical psychiatrist. Her long-term ambition is to support others in achieving wellness and to make a meaningful difference in the field of mental health.
