You are now in a position to add any composite functions you desire to your design. It might be wise to first of all decide on the necessary function and then list the two functions from which it is formed.
Be sure to keep a record of all functions used and their respective domains. Keep in mind as well that one or more of the original functions used and/or their domains may need to be changed to accommodate the addition of new functions. As mentioned before, brief notes should be made on any functions that are adjusted or added.
The use of a graphing calculator will facilitate the process of experimenting with different functions. Don't make the mistake, however, of allowing the actual task at hand to get lost in the fun of experimenting with the calculator. You are to have your design completed by the time you are finished this chapter.
