In the driver test example in your text the theoretical probability of correctly guessing the answer is 1:5 or 20% because there is one correct response in a total of five responses. If you set up a simulation (using the TI83, slips of paper, spinner, or whatever) and ran it for 50 trials you might get 10 "correct guesses". Your experimental probability would thus be 10:50 or 20% which is the same as the theoretical probability.
