Speed and Velocity
Study the diagram. Note the starting point and destination. Also note the distance you would travel along the road, and the actual displacement from the starting point to the destination.

If you can make the trip in exactly 1 hour
- What is the speed?
- What is the velocity? Remember that velocity is in meters per second, so you need to convert the number of kilometers into meters, and the number of hours into seconds.
