Lily Saunders - Provincial Concours d’Art Oratoire - Core French Winner

CDLI is pleased to highlight Lily Saunders, a Level III student at Indian River High School in Springdale. Lily is currently enrolled in Core French 3200 with CDLI. Lily participated in the Provincial Concours d’Art Oratoire offered through Canadian Parents for French by submitting a video speech and won first place in the Core French category. Her video will now be submitted to compete at the National level. Bravo Lily!

Lily keeps busy with schoolwork and extracurricular activities at school and in her community. Throughout high school, Lily has worked very hard to maintain honours status with a current overall average of 98%! Her favourite school subjects are French and Math. She is involved in student leadership at her school and also coaches junior girls’ volleyball. In her free time, she likes to hang out with her friends, drive around Springdale and also enjoys swimming.

When she graduates high school, she will move to Nova Scotia and attend St. Francis Xavier University to complete a BASc in Health. She has been awarded the Canadian Scholarship for St. Francis Xavier University, valued at $24 000! Her long-term goal is to return to Newfoundland to attend Medical School at Memorial University.
