Shane Pope - Recieves Harrison McCain MUN Scholarship

Congratulations Shane Pope of Botwood Collegiate for receiving the Harrison McCain MUN Scholarship!

Shane Pope has been recently named as the recipient of The Harrison McCain Scholarship, through Memorial University, valued at $16,000.00 over 4 years. This is a prestigious and significant achievement.

This honor is one of many that Shane has received in recognition of his dedication and will to succeed. Shane also received the Grad School Spirit Scholarship sponsored by Derek Sceviour Construction, valued at $250.00, as well as the Frank and Flossie Antle Memorial Scholarship recognizing the Graduate of the Year and valued at $500.00. This award recognizes the Graduate of the Year and is the most prestigious honor bestowed at Botwood Collegiate.

Shane has been a consistent, high-achieving academic student who has been on the Honour Roll each of the past 6 years. He is a goal driven leader who confidently motivates others by being himself – a very reliable, dependable and dedicated individual.

Shane has a commendable school and community volunteer record, a strong work ethic along with a commendable attendance record in his graduating year.

He has participated as:

  • President of the Botwood Collegiate Student Council.
  • Board Member of the National, Provincial, and Local Boys and Girls Club.
  • National Nominee for the Everyday Political Citizen Award.
  • Board Member on The Community Advisory Committee.
  • Beyond The Hurt - Youth Facilitator.

Shane Pope is an individual of character – integrity, perseverance, dependability, and dedication. Perhaps his strongest asset is his relentless pursuit of success and he demonstrates this in the manner he lives his life. He has a positive attitude, quietly taking care of business and no doubt will be one to watch for in the future.

Shane is currently completing Writing 2203 with CDLI!
