Tyrone War Monument

Tyrone War Monument

Tyrone, Ontario

The Tyrone War Monument was constructed in 1949 in memory of Tyrone men who lost their lives in WWI and WWII. The two separate posts represent one for each World War, and hold brass plaques inscribed with the names of those fallen. The posts are composed of bricks, with a cement top, and are 50 inches high, 36 inches wide, and 18 inches thick. The monument was erected by the Tyrone Community Centre, and the plaques were supplied by the quilting club, Club 49.
