Otonabee Township War Memorial

Keene, Ontario

The Memorial was erected in 1921, in memory of those who lost their lives in the Great War, also those that lost their lives in World War II.

The Cenotaph is situated on the northwest corner of Heritage Line and County Road #2, in the Village of Keene, Ontario, 13km southeast of Peterborough, Ontario.

Remembrance Day Service is held at the Cenotaph every November 11. The Service is well attended by all the Legions in the area. The wreaths laid at the Service each year are removed and a fresh wreath is laid each month. The Legion Branch 607 Otonabee replaces the Flag each time it is needed. The North Shore Women's Institute looks after the flowers and maintenance of the flower beds in the War Memorial Park.
