Onaping Falls Memorial

Levack, Ontario.

Constructed May 1991, in memory of our fallen comrades.

The first memorial was erected in 1951 and was upgraded in May 1957. In January of the same year, the name was changed from Levack-Hardy Branch to Woodland Memorial Hall and later changed to Onaping Falls Br. 503.

In April 1990, it was suggested that a new memorial be erected in Levack Memorial Park. The Cenotaph committee, through hard work and dedication and with very generous donations from the Ladies Auxiliary, Legion members and corporate donations from the town of Onaping Falls, Inco and Falconbridge, the new monument was realized.

On May 5, 1991, the new Cenotaph was dedicated with a parade and a fly-past by the R.C.A.F.

There is a memorial service held every November 11 at the Cenotaph.
