Constructed in memory of a British
Soldier of the War of 1812-1814.
The skeletal remains of the British Soldier
were uncovered July 23rd, 1949, on the bank of the
Nottawasaga River two miles from the river mouth.
He was buried at Nancy Island with full military
honors on September 6th, 1949. A British Military
button, found with the skeletal remains, was also
buried along side the British Soldier.
