Markdale Cenotaph

Markdale, Ontario

The Markdale Cenotaph was erected in memory of those who served and died in World War I, World War II and Korea.

The Monument was located in a cemetery at an old Chapel before being moved to its present location in the Hospital parking lot.

The Remembrance Day Service is held at the Arena Complex and the Veterans then parade to the Cenotaph for the conclusion of the service and a presentation of wreaths.

The present site has existed since 1970. The Markdale Horticultural Society maintains the flower beds around the Monument.

Inscription on the Monument.
