This monument was constructed in 1937 in memory of the officers and seamen of the Royal Navy and Provincial Mariners, and the officers & soldiers of the Royal Mariners.
The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, King's 8th and 100th Regiments who served on Lake Ontario in defense of Canada in 1812-1814.
