Becher, Lambton County, Ontario
Near the village of Becher in Sombra Township, stands the old Duthill Cemetery. In the centre of that tree-lined
plot is a monument that bears the names of seven local men. The urn on top of the memorial is an ancient funeral symbol
and here represents the graves of those who sleep "by little towns in a far off land." "Cenotaph" comes from Greek
words meaning "empty" or "representative tomb".
