Abernethy Cenotaph

This memorial is located near the village of Abernethy Cemetery. The Decoration Day service at the cemetery was started by the Abernethy Branch in 1926, and has continued to the present, with the exception of 1942-1945. These services are held during the month of July.

Abernethy Cenotaph

The cenotaph was erected in 1960. It was constructed in memory of the veterans and civilians who lost their lives in defence of freedom during World War 1, II and the Korean Conflicts. The cenotaph is maintained and cared for by local branch #26 of the Royal Canadian Legion.
