Cole Harbour Community Cenotaph

Cole Harbour Monument

Cole Harbour Place, Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia

The Community Cenotaph in Cole Harbour was constructed in November 1994, in the memory of the Air Force, Army, Navy, Merchant Marine, R.C.M.P., and Fire Department veterans. The face of the monument is engraved with the crests of all of the services it honours. A flag pole was raised last year and a request for an Artillery Gun has been put in. Funding for the monument included collections from the area and money donated from the County of Halifax. Some contractors donated some work on the monument, as well.

Services are held at the monument on November 11 and for other services as required.
Maintenance is done by the community.

"IN GRATEFUL REMEMBRANCE OF THOSE WHO SERVED CANADA IN WAR AND PEACE AND IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES. AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN, AND IN THE MORNING WE WILL "REMEMBER THEM".
