Hantsport Memorial

The Hantsport Memorial was constructed in 1978 in memory of all who served in World War I (1914-1918) and World War II (1939-1945).

The memorial was erected by the Ladies Auxiliary of Lucknow Branch #109 through the generosity of Comrade & Mrs. L.K. Marsters. Lloyde Kirkpatrick Marsters was a veteran of World War I.

In 1914 the population of Hantsport was 730. 120 young men were sent off to war. 21 made the supreme sacrifice.

At the beginning of World War II the population was a little over 900. 167 joined the Navy, Merchant Navy, Army, & Air force. 4 made the supreme sacrifice.
