Twillingate/New World Island War Memorial

Twillingate, Newfoundland

The Memorial was erected in 1985 in memory of the gallant men and women of the area who served so valiantly in the two Great Wars and the Korean Conflict.

The War Memorial is located on the site formerly occupied by the original Notre Dame Bay Memorial Hospital, the first War Memorial in the area. Twillingate Branch 21 of the Royal Canadian Legion spearheaded the drive to have the new Memorial erected and is responsible for the maintenance. A service and wreath laying ceremony is held at the Memorial each year on July 1 and November 11.
