Millville Cenotaph

This monument is located in Millville, New Brunswick. It was constructed in 1958 in memory of those who lost their lives in World War I and World War II.

Efforts to establish the Millville War Memorial is credited to the direction given under the leadership of Lewis Jones an officer of Branch #59 of the Royal Canadian Legion. He is a one time local president and District Commander. He was born and raised in the Millville area and served active duty in World War II.

Millville Cenotaph

Lewis Jones was aided by Col. J. Chester MacRae who is also a World War II veteran and an active Royal Canadian Legion officer in Fredericton at the time of the memorials unveiling, he was a Member of Parliament.

The memorial was funded by Branch #59. The plot of ground was donated by Frank and Ida Jones (parents of Lewis Jones). The Flewellings Funeral Home acquired the stone memorial to help keep the cost to a minimum.
