For World War II veteran Georges D. Comeau, completion of a Cenotaph in the town of Beresford is a dream come true. Mr. Comeau spearheaded a local group of veterans which, together with Ms. Ruth White who was town councillor of Beresford in 1992, worked to obtain a Cenotaph to commemorate the veterans of the Second World War. Located close to the entry of the Beresford Mall, the Cenotaph was made with fieldstones hand picked by Mr. Comeau in local fields while many local businesspeople helped by providing other materials and the labor. The land is owned by the town of Beresford.
