Sandy Lake and Area War Memorial

Sandy Lake, Manitoba

The Sandy Lake and Area Memorial was erected in 1955-1956, in memory of World War I and World War II Personnel who died in action.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 184 and the Auxiliary purchased the Memorial. The dedication of the Memorial took place in July 1956. Annual Remembrance Day Services take place at the Cenotaph. For the 50th anniversary, tulips from Holland were planted with some shrubs at the back of the Cenotaph. The upkeep of the Monument is done by Legion members.

The people of Sandy Lake and District are proud of the men that gave their lives for their Country.
