The Memorial South Cenotaph was erected on May 22, 1926, in memory of the soldier who died in World War I. The Memorial was later rededicated on November 11, 1939.

Memorial South is a 33.6 acre Park at 41st and Prince Albert Street in East Vancouver. The granite Cenotaph reads

"To the memory of the Men and Women who served in the defense of their Country."
