This memorial was constructed after World War II in memory of the war dead of S.F.T.S #34 British Commonweath Air Training Plan and also local veterans of World War I and World War II.
46 men died during the training operations April 28, 1941 - July 1, 1944 (Canadians - 6; Free French - 1; Belgium - 2; Netherlands - 1; Czeckoslovakia - 2; U.K - 36; New Zealand - 1).
