Edmonton, Alberta The Edmonton Convention Centre is the site of a special War Memorial and Peace Plaza, constructed in 1987. The Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans' Association constructed the commemorative plaza, complete with stone markers, to honour Edmonton and area soldiers, sailors and airmen who died in both the world wars and the Korean War. The project was erected on the plaza, west of the Jasper Avenue entrance to the convention centre.
