Average Rate of Change - Functions

Description

A function or equation doesn’t offer two points as readily as a graph or table of values. Yet, two points are necessary for determining the rate of change. However, a student can obtain these points by substituting for an independent variable like time. Once he or she has the two points they can put the appropriate information into the slope formula and solve.
