Formation of Oil and Gas Deposits

Description

This video describes the fossil fuels, oil and natural gas. Several steps describe how organic materials transform into liquid hydrocarbons called oil and gas. These liquids migrate through porous and permeable rocks called aquifers where they become trapped by some structural feature such as folds and faults. An oil trap consist of a reservoir rock that stores the oil and gas and a cap rock which contains the oil and gas. Two common traps include an anticline trap and a fault trap. A sample question is included at the end.
