Earthquakes and Earth's Interior

Description

This video reveals that Earth’s interior is differentiated according to density and this reveals an apparent layered structure of Earth. This information was gathered from the studies of seismic waves within Earth. Seismic waves reflect and refract at the layers boundaries and this enabled scientist to deduce much information about Earth’s interior. One significant discovery was that a liquid layer (outer core) exist within Earth. This also lead to features called shadow zone. A sample question is included at the end.
