Formation of Sedimentary Rocks

Description

This video focuses on the four stages which lead to the formation of clastic sedimentary rocks. Erosion and weathering break down pre-existing rock to form sediment. This sediment is then transported by different agents such as wind, water and ice where it is deposited at various locations. Eventually, sediment will make it to the oceans. The last stage in the formation of sedimentary rocks is the lithification process which turns the sediment to solid rock by compaction or cementing.
