Intraplate Volcanism

Description

This video focuses on volcanic activity which occurs within tectonic plates as they move over stationary hot spots. This can take place within ocean plates or continental plates and often result in basaltic magmas erupting to the surface. The Hawaiian Islands and Yellowstone national park are two examples.
